For our SS13 NIGHT / TIMES range we’ve cast an eye back to the house, techno and rave scene from the late 80s to early 90s. With a serious like of techno here in the office there was no question that we had to make a tee dedicated to one of the most legendary techno night’s Europe has ever witnessed – the Frankfurt temple of techno Omen. Established in 1988 by Sven Väth, Michael Münzing and Matthias Martin the night ran for a decade finally shutting it’s doors with an epic send off on 19th October 1998. Check out the full 14 hour set below.

Going back to the early days I found a 1991 set from Sven Väth that takes in everything from classic house cuts to more jacking house, some rave stab filled distinctly Germanic sounding techno (heavy) and even some acid house that would have been tearing up the dancefloors of raves all around the UK.

However Omen most notably paid host to a who’s who of the 90’s techno scene. Most of whom are still going incredibly strong today: Josh Wink, Jeff Mills, Ritchie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier, Ricardo Villalobos, Monika Kruze, Toni Ros, Chris Liebing, Gayle San. And not forgetting the regulars: Sven Väth, Frank Lorber, DJ Dag, Pauli, DJ Hell. Although Paul Van Dyk’s name can be seen on a flyer from 1996! I guess he was far less trance back then.

Our Omen T-Shirt pays tribute to the closing party lineup on the final night - Sven Väth, Frank Lorber, DJ Dag, Marco Carola and DJ Hell. Both the Omen tee and tote bag have been hand tie-dyed making each piece unique. We hope you have some good nights out with this tee on your back and in the meantime here’s a video of Sven showing you how to have it Omen style.
