DESIGN GUIDELINES - INTRODUCTION
Each collection has a specific theme and this is the source of inspiration for designers. You don't have to interpret the theme too literally if you don't want to though. In fact we want you to be as creative as possible so use your artistic license. However don't feel you have to do anything too clever - something simple can be just as effective.
You can do a basic one colour illustration in a programme like Illustrator, a drawing, use photographic images (preferably black and white), create something in oil paint then scan it and so on. Don't feel you have to use lots of colours though. In fact the less colours you use the easier it will be to print.
As a general rule we will look at anything - abstract, literal, figurative, decorative, illustrative - but don't feel your design has to be graphic design led. You can include copy however we are reluctant to print slogans, but if you think you've got a really good idea then submit it.
All designs submitted are then judged against a number of criteria - both from a technical and aesthetic point of view, explained in the Approval Process section. If your design should be declined we will do our best to explain why while we will also try to work with you to bring your design forward if we feel there is potential.
